This is one of our most popular tours as it allows you to spend a very reasonable amount of time in the Serengeti (2 nights) and still have the chance of exploring Ngorongoro and Manyara or Tarangire.
Day 1: LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK
Embark from your hotel at 8 am for a captivating journey through the Great Rift Valley to Lake Manyara National Park, where a full-day game drive awaits. Despite its modest size of 205 square miles, the park boasts awe-inspiring scenery, renowned for its lush acacia forests, towering figs, and majestic mahogany trees. Encounter a diverse array of wildlife, including giraffes, elephants, impalas, and abundant buffalo herds, alongside a thriving population of baboons and blue monkeys. The park’s picturesque lake is home to numerous hippos, and notable attractions include the famed tree-climbing lions, flamingos gracing the lakeshore, and sightings of the Ground Hornbill and Crested Eagle. The stunning landscapes of Lake Manyara offer unparalleled photo opportunities, with giraffes and buffaloes set against the backdrop of the lake and its resident flamingos. Optional extra tours, such as a bike excursion or boat trip, provide additional exploration opportunities. Conclude the day with a transfer to the camp for dinner.

Day 2: SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK
After an early breakfast, set off for the renowned Serengeti National Park, a journey through spectacular scenery. En route, enjoy a brief stop at the Ngorongoro Crater rim for a breathtaking view. As you venture further into the Serengeti, experience its vast “endless plains,” spanning 6,900 square miles. Witness the iconic Great Migration, with millions of wildebeests, zebras, and various antelopes. Look out for Big Cats and other predators, along with a diverse array of wildlife, including smaller animals and over 500 bird species. Optional stops include a visit to Olduvai Gorge, where Dr. Louis and Mary Leakey made groundbreaking discoveries. Explore the gorge’s archaeological significance and geological features, including a visit to their museum.

Day 3: SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK
Full day in the Serengeti National Park. We are completely flexible with your preferences and this day will be organized according to your wishes. On every day of the safari, your guide will discuss with you the best timings for you, including the game drives and the wake up time. For example, on this day, you could do a morning game drive, return to the camp for lunch and relaxation and finish with an afternoon game drive, or you could do a full day game drive with picnic lunch.

Day 4: SERENGETI TO NGORONGORO
We recommend an early start for a captivating morning game drive to observe active wildlife and witness a stunning sunrise. After the drive, enjoy a rewarding brunch before continuing to Ngorongoro, celebrated as the 8th wonder of the Natural World. Spanning 102 sq. miles with towering walls, the crater is akin to Noah’s ark, hosting a remarkable array of East African wildlife, including the rare black Rhino. It boasts diverse habitats, from rivers and swamps to a soda lake teeming with flamingos, forests, and open plains. Ngorongoro is renowned for its impressive elephants, attributed to the rich volcanic soil. Experience this natural wonder and arrive in time for a memorable sundowner.

Day 5: NGORONGORO CRATER
We will start the day very early and descend into the crater floor for an incredible morning of wildlife in one of the most stunning places on Earth. After the game drive, there will be time for a picnic lunch near the beautiful hippo Lake. After lunch, we will have time for a short game drive and then ascend the crater and exit Ngorongoro Conservation Area towards Arusha. We expect to be back in Arusha around 5pm although we are flexible in case there is a flight to catch or another situation.
